Hazel, founder of Help to Donate

About

Hello, I'm Hazel

Based in Chingford, I help people sort through their belongings with care — and make sure everything that can be donated finds exactly the right home.

With years of experience in charity retail, I know what organisations need, which charities are looking for what, and how to make sure your belongings go somewhere meaningful.

I don't transport items myself — but I know exactly where everything should go, and I'll make sure it gets there. I know which local charities collect from home and which don't. Where collections are available, I'll help arrange them directly. Where they're not, I'll point you toward trusted local contacts for transport.

I started Help to Donate because I kept seeing the same thing: people with homes full of good, useful things — and no idea how to let go of them in a way that felt right. The charity sector has real needs, and most people genuinely want to help. They just need someone who knows how to connect the two.

That's what I do. I bring the knowledge — you make the decisions. Nothing goes to waste.

How I work

No judgement

Homes accumulate. Life gets busy, circumstances change. I've seen it all — and I'm here to help, not to comment.

You stay in control

Every decision is yours. I'll offer guidance and suggestions, but nothing leaves your home without your say-so.

Nothing goes to waste

Years in charity retail means I know exactly which organisations need what — and how to make sure your belongings go somewhere meaningful.

Unhurried, always

There's no clock running. I work at whatever pace feels right for you, whether that's one drawer or an entire house.

I hold an enhanced DBS certificate and am fully insured, so you can feel confident inviting me into your home.
